May News

I just returned from a wonderful little tour to New England. I haven't been out there since last year and enjoyed playing and visiting with friends. As usual I continued my Journal and posted some pictures Hans York Travel Journal. Finally I re-released my first German Solo Album "Hazzazar" with the song order that it was supposed to have 10 years ago (The record company had different thoughts on that - as if you could put Chapter 7 before Chapter 4?!) There will be a limited number of 30 hard copies and after that it is only available for download. For now you can get it at CD- Baby. (Hans York "Hazzazar" The German Years Vol. 1)

Young Amelia is coming along well and I will travel to the UK in October to meet with producer Stuart Epps and start the recoding process. I was also approached by a Swedish record company that loved "Inside Out" and is interested in releasing the new album (Young Amelia) on the European market. Now is a great time for your support - I'm still working hard on financing the project and won't be able without significant help. ("Young Amelia" Fundraiser)

I'm excited to visit Canada for the first time and was invited to perform a showcase at the "New Music West Festival" in Vancouver, BC this weekend. I would have loved to stay a little longer and explore the city but also got invited to perform at the Grand opening for SAM - the newly renovated Seattle Art Museum this Sunday.

Later that month I'm driving down to California again to perform and teach at the California Autoharp Gathering and at this years Seattle Folklife Festival I'm playing bass with my friends from Central Services. We recently played a great show at the Crocodile.

If you haven't yet some of my music as CD or in your iPod, you can get it here at CD-Baby
(Buy "Inside Out", Buy "Sau Gut", Buy "Hazzazar") or download it here (Hans York @ iTunes).

Before the Storm

Wow, I haven't updated this section for a while now. Too busy with the upcoming tour. It's going to be 15000 miles, about 40 shows and roughly three months away from home. Certainly the longest tour I've ever done all by myself. I'm leaving on December 15th to go to Central CA to record a new album with my band Lyquid Amber. It's so overdue!
After that I'm spending Christmas and New yeras with my CA family:)

Beginning January I'll start the adventure. Please check my myspace for the dates and locations. I think I'll make that one the main website, at least for the dates It's so tedious to update three calendars.

OK - back to work - there's still a lot to do - making fyers, send out posters, do more promo - true indie life:)

best wishes

Newsletter August

Just came back from thre weeks in California where I tought at the Sweetsmill Music Camp in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was great and I finally had some vacation. Now I just have to figure out how to get back on track. I play only about six shows this month before I fly out to Nashville. I was invited to perform at the famous Bluebird Café and I'm stoked about this. My friend Rob Ickes (Blue Highway) will sit in with me:)

When I return on the 22nd I'll be back in the studio producing an album with Singer Songwriter Steven Franz. The basics are done and we're moving along nicely.

I also got a nice review from another Ezine for my CD Inside Out. You can read it here North east IN-TUNE.

As always, if you haven't yet some of my music as CD or in your iPod, you can get it here at CD-Baby (Buy "Inside Out", Buy "Sau Gut") or download it here (Inside Out @ iTunes or Sau Gut @ iTunes). The wonderful folks of Bright Side Broadcast have also just released a free Podcast with an interview and some yet unreleased tunes available for your iTunes and iPod as Hans York Podcast MP3 or Hans York Podcast M4a.
